- Chester moved to Concord with his parents on 29 Sep 1899. and resided at 15 Essex Street until his marriage in 1912. He worked for the Concord Street Railway until they were abandoned in 1933. This covered a period of 1911-1933. In 1933 he went to work as a Mechanic, for the Boston & Maine Bus Company that took over for the old "Street Cars." He was taken ill while working on the buses and upon his recovery went to work as Clerk in the
Boston and Maine Railroad Office at the old Railroad station in Concord, NH for a short period of time before resigning due to ill health. During his tenure with the Concord Street Railway he served in the capacity of Repairman and Assistant Foreman at the repair shops. He also worked as "Motorman" on occasion when they were running specials between Concord and Contoocook River Park with the old "Open Cars."
After a recovery period, he went to work for J. C. Penny Company until his retirement on 1 Feb 1958. After the death of his wife in 1963, Chester lived with his daughter Margery (Jewell) Wheeler and her husband, Arthur, in Peterborough, NH. While living in Concord, he resided at: 15 Essux Street, 1899-1912: 44 Monroe Street, 1913-1914; 15 Essux Street, 1915; 61 Washington Street, 1916-1917; 6 Allison Street, 1918-1921; and 25 Allison Street form 1922 until his death of his wife in 1963. His 25 Allison Street home has since been torn down to make room for Blue Cross-Blue Shield parking lot.
- Marriage was performed by Reverend Wilson and attendants were Chester's brother, Harry Gordon Jewell adn Harry's fiancee, Daisy Ione Young.
