    "The Charlottetown Guardian, 19 December 1902. John K. Minchin, son of Alexander Minchin, Milton Ontario, has recovered from numerous wounds received while serving in South Africa. He was struck by no less than six bullets, one of which he will carry during the rest of his life. Mr. Minchin was a cousin of Mr. David Minchin and a grandson of John Kaneen, Esq., of the same place." [from Howard Blaxland, July 2012]
